Thirdgen Triton Carbon Ceramic Discs Target Porsche 996 Braking Performance
Triton has introduced a third-generation carbon ceramic brake disc for Porsche 996 owners, aiming to balance daily driving comfort with track-oriented braking performance. The company says the system uses a 3D long-carbon-fiber bonding process and is designed as an OEM replacement for high-performance Porsche variants. The update reflects continued demand for lightweight, heat-resistant braking components in performance vehicles.
Core technology: 3D fiber construction
The core of Triton’s third-generation carbon ceramic disc is an innovative 3D long-carbon-fiber bonding process. The company states that the construction seeks to combine strength with reduced weight, while the material’s thermal stability is intended to maintain friction performance under repeated high-load braking.
The design is aimed at limiting the performance fluctuations associated with heat fade. For high-performance vehicles, lower unsprung mass can also contribute to more responsive suspension behavior and sharper handling feedback, the company says. The discs are positioned for both demanding track conditions and high-performance street use.
Fitment and specifications
Triton says the third-generation discs are built for Porsche’s high-performance series and are offered as direct OEM replacements. According to the company, compatible vehicles require no additional modification to match the original braking system.
| Model series | Front disc size (mm) | Rear disc size (mm) |
|---|---|---|
| GT3 RS | 410x36 | 390x32 |
| GT3 Touring Package | 410x36 | 400x32 |
| Turbo S | 420x40 | 390x32 |
Purchase and installation notes
The product is offered as a complete front and rear brake disc set. Brake pads are not included and must be purchased separately, according to the company.
Because the discs are manufactured through a specialized process, the current delivery lead time is approximately 65 days. That timeline may affect upgrade planning for owners considering the system.
